Sports Board Punjabs Independence Day Sporting Events Continue

Punjab Sports Council Independence Day sporting events i.e. Hockey, Cycling, Laser Race and Badminton were underway here at different venues in Nishtar Park Sports Complex on Tuesday

LAHORE, (APP – UrduPoint/Pakistan Point News – Aug 16, 2022): The Punjab Independence Day sports events of the sports council of hockey, cycling, laser racing and badminton were underway here in different Nishtar Park Sports Complex venues on Tuesday.

The Independence Day women’s hockey event was played at the Pitch-2 National Hockey Stadium where Pakistan Green edged out Pakistan White by a narrow 2-1 margin.

The Deputy Chairman of the Punjab Sports Council, Zahid Qayyum, was the chief guest on this occasion. He distributed prizes and medals among the top performers of the event.

Assistant Managers Chand Parveen, Rana Nadeem Anjum, Assistant Manager Zahoor Ahmed, National Hockey Stadium Administrator Nasir Malik, Former Hockey Player Sehrish Ghumman and SBP Chief Sports Consultant Hafeez Bhatti were also present on the occasion. .

The Sports Board Punjab Independence Day Laser Race event was held at the Punjab Stadium.

The Vice President, SBP was the guest of honor on the occasion.

Punjab Green’s team who accumulated 4568 points edged out Punjab White (3962 points) in the Independence Day laser racing event. In the U-12 age group category, Subhan Zahoor secured the first position with 430 points while the next two positions were shared by Hussain with 340 points and Talha with 315 points.

Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Chairman of Punjab Sports Council, Zahid Qayyum said that Punjab Sports Council had organized 11-game competitions to celebrate Independence Day appropriately. “We have engaged hundreds of young male and female players in different sports activities on this auspicious occasion.”

The Vice Chairman of Sports Board Punjab, Zahid Qayyum further said that Sports Board Punjab provides a suitable platform for young athletes in the province to showcase their sports skills in a competitive environment.
