National Hockey League, a new initiative with DreamHack Sports Games

Ice Hockey League in North America, the National Hockey League, commonly known as NHL Last year, it partnered with DreamHack Sports Games, the sports simulation business unit of MTG. A multi-year deal that sees both parties develop existing projects, as well as create new gaming initiatives. DreamHack Sports Games will produce the NHL Gaming Championship, which is expected to launch soon. The European Championship will take place at the GG DreamHack Sports Festival of Games on June 4 in Maastricht, the Netherlands. Meanwhile, the North American Championships will take place in Montreal, Canada on July 7. The competition will run separately for each of the four consoles, namely Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Playstation 4 and Playstation 5. This will be the second edition of the event organized by DreamHack Sports Games since the organizer entered into a multi-year partnership with the National Hockey League (NHL). Additionally, this is also the first time since 2019 that the tournament has returned as a personal event.

Since the introduction of the MTG business unit in December 2019, DreamHack Sports Games has been involved in several sports simulation initiatives across Europe. This includes the launch of the European Tour, in partnership with the European Golf Course, and the start of a partnership with electronics retailer Elgiganten to support the eAllsvenskan and eSuperliga FIFA tournaments. Now the new initiative with the NHL. DreamHack Sports Games has also partnered with the Eredivisie Dutch Football League to host the GG DreamHack Sports Games Festival. New and higher level events are coming.
