Comic book characters are bad role models
As a kid, I always looked forward to reading the comics – you know, the “funny ones” – because they were funny. And here I am, I’m almost 86 years old, and I still love to read jokes.
I don’t know who is in charge of your selection of comics, but I dare say that some of them encourage immoral behavior as well as disrespect for elders and authority.
Is this what we want to teach our children through the comics? After all, the cartoons in the comics act, in a way, like role models.

Decide to attend sporting events
Watching the Los Angeles Dodgers play baseball in a crowded stadium of 50,000 people, side by side, hopefully without ill effects, reminded me of our sports teams in Hawaii playing in front of empty houses.
The misguided Hawaii officials are taking a journey that locks up all of us and denies us the pleasure of being there in person to watch our great players win, win, win. We can make our own choices. We do not need officials to prepare them for us regarding participation in sporting events.

Photos deter people from getting vaccinated
Stop it!
Why are you featuring photos like the one featured in your October 1 issue: the look of horror on the face of the man being vaccinated? Go on! I don’t like the hits but I got all three and didn’t even feel a pinch.
This is not the way to encourage people to get vaccinated. Be Help, Please!
