
A total of 2,155 cadets from across the country were attending the National Cadet Corps (NCC) Republic Day Camp, its executive director, Lt. Gen. Gurbirpal Singh said on Friday.
The camp started in Delhi on January 4 and will end on January 28.
Speaking at a press conference, Singh said the NCC was continuing training activities even during the testing period of the COVID-19 pandemic. Numerous trainings were provided online and via digital platforms. Once the restrictions were relaxed, physical camps and hands-on training activities resumed, ”he said.
The Republic Day Camp cadets were selected after several rounds of rigorous selections, he noted.
“Cadets participate in a number of activities, which will culminate with the gathering of Prime Minister Narendra Modi,” he said.
The camp saw 2,155 cadets from all states and union territories, he noted.
Singh applauded the achievements of NCC cadets in various athletic competitions.
He mentioned that the NCC cadets have won four gold, four silver and two bronze at the 2021 GV Mavlankar Shooting Championship. PTI DSP SMN SMN
